The Tigers of A.I. duPont shut out Brandywine 22-0 on a crisp night in Wilmington.
Brandywine would win the toss and elect to receive.
Both defenses would start out well as neither team could muster much offense in the first quarter.
As the quarter was coming to a close, the Bulldogs would block a punt and recover it at A.I. duPont’s 1. However, they could not score and would turn the ball over on downs.
On the ensuing drive for the Tigers, they would drive from their own 1 to deep into Brandywine’s territory before fumbling. The Bulldogs would recover at their own 21.
About a minute later, A.I. would get the ball back thanks to an interception and take over on Brandywine’s 17.
The Tigers would take advantage of the turnover and convert it into 3 points as Kyle Peterson would hit a 27 yard Field Goal.
A.I. duPont would have the lead climb with 3:17 left in the half as Chad Jones threw to Jamir Dantley for a 51 yard touchdown. The Tigers would lead 10-0 at the break.
Late in the third quarter, A.I. duPont would get back on the scoreboard as Chad Jones found Jamir Dantley again, this time for 29 yards as the Tigers would go up 17-0.
After the touchdown, Brandywine would start their next possession on their own 15 yard line with 1:06 left to go in the third quarter.
After changing sides to start the fourth quarter, A.I. duPont’s Destant Jones would sack Rah’meir Marks for a Safety. The lead would climb to 19-0.
The Tigers would tack on three more as Kyle Peterson hit a 22 yard Field Goal with 9:35 to go in the contest.
And, that would be the final score.
