14-1 Archmere earned the top seed for the 2017 DIAA Girls Lacrosse Tournament, that begins with a pair of opening round games on Thursday evening.
Defending champion Cape Henlopen is undefeated against in-state competition, but dropped to the 3rd seed, and will open their tournament Saturday night at home against Caravel.
Archmere’s quest for a title will begin Saturday morning, when they take on the winner of Thursday’s Padua/Appoquinimink game. Appoquinimink in the tournament for the first time in school history.
The championship game of the event will be held at the new DE Sports Turf Complex between Dover and Milford on Route 1 in Frederica.
