Archmere travelled to A.I. duPont on Wednesday Night and came away with a hard fought 56-48 win.

The first tie of the game would be 9-9 late in the first. Archmere would go on a 7-3 run to end the quarter and lead by 4 after 1.

In the second, the Auks would build their lead to 6 at 22-16. A.I. duPont would promptly close the gap and take a 1 point lead late in the half. However, a basket by Archmere’s Catherine McGonigle would put the Auks up 1 at the break.

In the third, the game would stay tight as neither team led by more than 3. The Tigers would have a 1 point advantage after 3.

To start the fourth quarter, A.I. duPont would go up 3 on a jumper by Lauryn Griffin.

However, the Auks defense would tighten and they would hold the Tigers to just 6 points the rest of the way.

Archmere was led by Madison Stewart, who had 15. The Tigers leading scorers were Ber’Nyah Ward-Mayo with 16 and Al’kirah Wilson had 11.

This was Archmere’s last regular season game. A.I. duPont will next travel to face Conrad on Wednesday, Feb. 22nd.
