Caravel defeated Newark Charter 10-1 on Monday night to get their 10th win of the season.

Newark Charter would start the scoring in the 1st inning with Madison Turner driving in Julie McGough on a sacrifice. It would be 1-0 Patriots as the game moved to the bottom half of the inning.

In the bottom of the 1st, Caravel would score twice thanks to RBI singles by Amanda Ludzinski and Elizabeth Smith. The score would be 2-1 after 1.

In the 4th, Caravel would break it open with 4 runs on 5 hits pushing the lead to 6-1.

Emily Proffitt would finish off the scoring for Caravel with a three-run homer over the left field wall in the 5th. She would finish with 5 RBI on the night.

Caravel’s Savannah Sheats pitched 6.1 innings, scattering 8 hits and striking out 3 in the victory.

Caravel will next face Indian River on May 17th. Newark Charter will next face Hodgson Vo-Tech on May 16th.
