Howard battled William Penn on Thursday Night and got a needed win in Overtime 58-54.

Howard would start the game scoring the first 5 points and lead 9-5 after 1.

In the second, the Colonials would close the gap to 1 at 14-13.

As time was expiring in the half, William Penn’s Jermal Crumel hit a three quarter court shot but was ruled after the buzzer and no good. Howard led by 4 at the break.

In the third, William Penn would take the lead at 27-26 and then again at 29-28. They would outscore Howard 11-3 the rest of the quarter and lead 40-31 after 3.

In the fourth, Howard clamped down defensively and held William Penn to just 7 points as they would tie the game as time expired on a basket by Shawn Bowman.

In Overtime, Howard would keep the defensive pressure on and outscore William Penn 11-7.

Fahmee Flowers led all scorers with 18 for Howard. William Penn was led by Dasir King with 16.

Howard will next face Northeast Prep School on Monday, Feb. 20th in the Delcastle Showcase Event. William Penn will next face Hodgson on Saturday, Feb. 18th.
