Woodbridge’s Cornell Corbin scored 20 points as the Blue Raiders answered Glasgow’s late comeback for a 60-56 road victory Thursday evening.

Woodbridge led by as many as 11 in the first half, but found themselves down 52-48 with 3:30 left after Devin McDowell’s steal became a layup for Zion Taylor of Glasgow.

Corbin tied the game at 54 with a three-pointer, and then Antwain Holden’s backdoor pass to him put the Blue Raiders up 56-54 with 58 seconds left.

Devon Earl hit a pair of free throws to tie the game, and Woodbridge committed a turnover to give the ball back to the hosts.

Glasgow was trapped near mid-court, and Cornell Corbin snatched the ball away, and quickly hit an outlet to his brother Hassan for the go-ahead points with 17 seconds left.

Glasgow had a chance to tie under the basket, but Corbin swatted away a layup attempt, and Shymere Vessels hit two free throws to lock in the win.

Woodbridge (17-2) also picked up 17 points from Hassan Corbin, as the Henlopen South champions picked up valuable postseason points. They will try to finish a perfect season in the South with a game at Delmar Friday at 7:15. They’ll battle Smyrna for the Henlopen title next Friday at Cape Henlopen at 8pm.

McDowell led Glasgow (12-6) with 14 points, with Devon Earl adding 11. They’ll take on Caravel Tuesday at 5:15pm.
